RICHMOND – Governor Kaine’s rude remarks to taxpayers at two recent town hall meetings appear to be aimed at shutting down the debate over tax hikes, even before it starts, the Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity (AFP) said today. Governor Kaine snapped “then stay off the roads” to a group of activists opposing tax hikes at the Staunton town hall meeting, even slapping one taxpayer on the shoulder. And at the Hampton town hall the Governor responded to citizens chanting “no new taxes” with the retort “no new roads.” Once inside Governor Kaine repeatedly cut-off, ignored, and rudely rebutted citizens during the question and answer session.
